I’ve spent most of my life on the ice. Like every skater, I had the same routine after every practice: wipe down the blades, pull the soakers over them, and pack everything away.
The problem was that my towel never seemed to actually dry my skates. I’d wipe the blades over and over, but they still had streaks of water on them, and my ice skate bag always ended up damp.
The idea for the GIANTCLEAN Blade Cover & Skate Care Kit came from somewhere completely unrelated to skating.
One day, I watched my mom wrap her wet hair in a microfiber hair turban. As she twisted it, the water seemed to vanish into the fabric almost instantly. If this material could do that to hair, why couldn’t I save myself the frustration and do the same to my skates?
So I designed my own skate care kit: a towel that actually absorbs moisture instead of simply pushing it around, paired with plush blade covers that continue drawing away remaining moisture.
